"History will be kind to me, for I intend to write it."-Winston S. Churchill

"The wandering scholars were bound by no lasting loyalties, were attached by no sentiment of patriotism to the states they served and were not restricted by any feeling of ancient chivalry. They proposed and carried out schemes of the blackest treachery."-C.P. Fitzgerald.

Commentary Magazine...

...was the house organ of the American Jewish Commitee. From its pages came giants such as Norman Podhoretz and Midge Decter. The magazine was a source of great enjoyment to me during the great struggle against the Soviet Empire, as Podhoretz and his editorial staff enunciated a coherent world-view that mixed liberal economic policies with a clear understanding of the threat posed by the Soviet Empire.

Now, a new menace is abroad in the world: Islamic Fascism. However, this article, by Nidra Poller, is one of the more depressing pieces I have read in some time. It is of a piece with Wretchard's post, mentioned below, that bemoans the fate of a Europe under siege by militant Islam. This article was written by an American expatriate, a Jew, who understands that the fate of the Jews of Europe is once again in the balance.
